Design discussions today prevent site delays tomorrow.

A simple note like “Vehicle Crash Barrier” can look neat on the drawings, but without proper design input it often leaves important details unanswered.

Is it compliant with AS 1170.1? Does it meet AS 2890.1 requirements? How is it fixed? Can the slab edge take the loads? Are hob widths and installation sequencing resolved?

When these questions are left until construction, they tend to surface as RFIs, onsite changes, delayed installation, and trade coordination issues.

Early input from our barrier specialists helps resolve these details during design, so they don’t become problems on site later.

FutureGuard™

FutureGuard Series 2

FutureGuard Series 1

FutureGuard Series 3

FutureGuard Series 4

FutureGuard™ is an architectural, crash-tested and certified car park barrier system for perimeter and internal edge protection in multi-level car parks.

FutureGuard™ replaces traditional Armco-style crash barriers that compromise appearance, require slab drilling, and delay works at the final stages of construction.

✓ Adjustable post spacing up to 2.45m, and infinitely flexible barrier lengths
✓ 165mm narrow profile to maximise car park space yield
✓ Clean visual detailing and a refined architectural finish

FutureGuard™ is available in compliant configurations to meet:
✓ AS 1170.1 vehicle impact loading requirements
✓ AS 2890.1 car park sighting rail requirements
✓ Pedestrian protection and anti-climb requirements

When specified with our proprietary FutureFix cast-in fixing system, FutureGuard™ guarantees:

✓ No risks to post-tension cables, slab reinforcement or in-slab services
✓ 50% faster barrier installation, reducing site time and trade clashes
✓ Immediate edge protection without temporary measures
✓ 100% verified fixing capacity in all areas
✓ No silica dust risks from slab drilling

About Us

Carpark Barrier Systems has delivered compliant, project-ready barrier solutions since 2009. Drawing on decades of construction and engineering experience, we developed FutureGuard™. It’s a compact, architecturally refined, and cost-effective alternative to traditional basic crash barrier systems.

To further improve installation and engineering outcomes we also developed FutureFix, the only cast-in slab fixing system for crash barriers. This proprietary methodology eliminates clashes with post-tensioning, reinforcement and services, and removes the need for drilling therefore protecting workers from silica dust exposure. FutureFix enables rapid barrier installation within days of the slab pour, allowing FutureGuard barriers to serve as immediate edge protection and reduce the need for long-term scaffolding or temporary edge protection systems.

FutureGuard™ and FutureFix are now being specified and used on major projects across Australia.

We also supply and install a full range of car park safety and metalwork packages including bollards, wheel stops, crash rails, and associated building protection systems.

FutureGuard crash barriers

Liverpool Hospital – ADCO Constructions

Liverpool Hospital’s new 1250 car space multi-level carpark required a robust and comprehensive barrier package. CBS  were engaged by ADCO Constructions to supply and install approx 3200 linear metres of FutureGuard crash barriers onto our innovative FutureFix cast-in no-drill fixing system, including heavy-duty 240kN end-of-ramp barriers.

Mesh screens were installed between internal levels for fall protection, along with an extensive scope of ancillary metalwork including bollards, corner guards, downpipe protectors, speed humps, mirrors, wheelstops and height bars. Linemarking was also completed as part of our package. The result is a durable, compliant and clean architectural outcome, delivered on time to support a critical health infrastructure project in South Western Sydney.

Concord Hospital – Lipman / Aambianz

As part of the facade and metalworks package for Lipman at Concord Hospital, CBS was engaged by Aambianz to deliver 1,050 metres of FutureGuard barrier across five levels of structured car parking. The barrier scope included perimeter edges behind the facade blades, ramp transitions, split-level drops, and other exposed edges, with integrated anti-climb mesh panels to meet stringent balustrade and fall protection requirements.

This project utilised our FutureFix no-drill cast-in system, ensuring fast, accurate installation with no risk to post-tensioned slabs or surrounding finishes. The clean lines and compact profile of the FutureGuard system preserved the architectural intent of the facade and delivered a durable, high-end finish that satisfied both structural and aesthetic expectations.

Daikin Expansion – CIP Constructions

CBS supplied and installed 650 metres of FutureGuard crash barrier for the multi-level carpark at Daikin’s expanded Chipping Norton facility. Installed on our proprietary FutureFix no-drill cast-in system, each barrier stage was completed within one week of each slab pour, allowing early removal of formwork and scaffolding without the need for temporary handrails.  The use of FutureFix ensured no risk to PT strands, and eliminates the silicosis risks associated with drilling.

Materials were craned progressively to each level as the carpark was built, avoiding double handling and reducing access and labour costs. The scope of works also included bollards, downpipe guards, carpark fitout and 40kN truck rated guardrail as part of a full project-based metalwork scope.
